1. Your contribution

Begin with what you know. Required fields are marked (required); all others are optional.

2. Person & place

Unknown and approximate details are welcome. Describe uncertainty; do not guess exact dates or coordinates.

Do not include directions to vulnerable or restricted sites in public-facing descriptions.

3. Evidence & stewardship

Separate observations, documented facts, and family traditions. A contribution is not a verified historical finding. Evidence links are optional; photographs never block completion.

For each source, include title, author or repository, date, page or record number, and the claim it supports.

Submitting does not authorize entry, cleaning, repair, excavation, or other site work.

4. Privacy & permissions

Private review is the default. Do not include sensitive information about living people. Publication requires a separate Foundation review, verification, and rights check.

Contact details and precise locations are intended for private review. Public credit and permission to consider publication are separate choices. Submission does not establish authenticity, transfer copyright, guarantee publication, or authorize physical stewardship work. Do not include passwords, identity documents, or sensitive information about living people.

Privacy and retention: The Foundation reviews new records within 90 days. Declined or withdrawn personal material is removed within 30 days of the decision or withdrawal request. Accepted historical material is retained under its recorded permissions. For privacy, correction, or withdrawal requests, contact [email protected] and include your receipt reference if available.

A printed or saved copy may contain private details. Store it securely and redact it before sharing. Questions or correction requests: [email protected].
